Life Devourer
“We could still hear him praying inside it.”
A hulking horror of split flesh and exposed bone, the Life Devourer imprisons its victims within its gaping ribcage. Their fading vitality fuels its monstrous strength as it follows Orcus’s legion into battle. Those trapped inside remain conscious, their pleas mingling with the cracking of bones as the creature makes room for another.
A missing priest is still alive inside the creature. The party must free him before it finishes feeding.
The legion unleashes a Life Devourer upon a refugee caravan, trapping survivors against a collapsed bridge.
A captive carries a sacred relic that prevents their consumption. The creature hunts anyone capable of removing it.

“You will beg me to spare your children. I will let you hear them beg for you.
Then I will raise you together... You will know their faces. You will feel their bones break beneath your hands.
And when you have torn apart everything you ever loved, I will give you back your mind. Just long enough to understand what your hands have done. Then I will raise them again.”
- Orcus, the Bone Tyrant.
