Orcusling
“The knocking stopped when we buried her. Tonight, it started again.”
A bloated fiend with curling horns and ragged wings, the Orcusling struts among the dead as though it were Orcus himself. Wielding a crude skull-topped wand, it gathers corpses into a court of obedient servants. Its favorite cruelty is sending familiar faces back to those still mourning them.
Each night, dead villagers return carrying invitations to a feast in the cemetery. Those who accept never come home.
An Orcusling steals the remains of a revered knight, forcing the fallen hero to hunt the descendants they died protecting.
Two Orcuslings compete for their master’s favor, emptying neighboring graveyards to assemble rival armies. Their next recruits will come from the living.
