The salamander guard runs hotter than anything the party's fire resistance was designed for. A fire plane creature built for elemental encounters, Elemental Plane of Fire dungeon arcs, and campaigns where the party discovers that fire resistance does not make everything manageable. Use it as a fire plane guard, the encounter that patrols the forge dungeon, or the creature whose faction the party needs to navigate carefully in an elemental bargaining arc.
